Floorhand

A Floorhand is a vital member of the drilling crew who works directly on the drill floor of a drilling rig. This physically demanding role primarily involves assisting the Driller and other crew members with the manual handling of drill pipe, casing, and other tubulars. Key responsibilities include making and breaking connections, maintaining the drill floor, operating various hand and power tools, and ensuring all operations adhere strictly to safety protocols. It's typically an entry-level position that requires strong teamwork and physical stamina to contribute to the efficient and safe execution of drilling operations.

Scope of Duties:

• Assisting in drilling operations.
• Monitoring and inspecting the condition of drilling equipment and tools.
• Assisting with the repair and maintenance of drilling tools and equipment.
• Supporting the Driller with rig operations/tasks.
• Maintaining a clean and organized work area/drill floor (maintaining good housekeeping).
• Strictly adhering to all Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) policies and procedures.

Requirements:

• Technical vocational or secondary education.
• Minimum of 2 years of experience in a similar role.
• Ability to work effectively in a team / Strong teamwork skills.
• Commitment to quality work / Attention to detail.
