
Driller
The Driller is a pivotal and highly responsible role on a drilling rig, directly overseeing and operating the drilling equipment to safely and efficiently execute the well program.
This position requires expert control of drilling parameters such as weight on bit, rotary speed, and drilling fluid circulation. The Driller is also responsible for supervising the drill floor crew (Floorhands/Roughnecks), ensuring strict adherence to all operational procedures, maintaining equipment, and upholding the highest safety and environmental standards. They report directly to the Toolpusher or Rig Manager and are accountable for the primary drilling operations.
Scope of duties:
- Supervising and executing drilling operations.
- Monitoring and inspecting the condition of drilling equipment and tools.
- Overseeing and coordinating the repair and maintenance of drilling tools and equipment.
- Maintaining a clean and organized work area (good housekeeping).
- Ensuring strict adherence to all Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) policies and procedures.
Requirements:
- Technical secondary education, with a specialization in drilling being highly desirable.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience as a Driller.
- Relevant supervisory drilling certification / Qualified Person Certificate (or equivalent) for rotary geological drilling operations. (This refers to specific Polish regulatory certification for supervisory personnel in drilling).
- Willingness to work demanding schedules and rotational shifts / Flexibility.
- Strong organizational skills / Ability to manage own work effectively.
- Commitment to quality work / Attention to detail.
- Ability to work effectively in a team / Strong teamwork and leadership skills.
